It was 11.00 am and I had done a few cuts and blow dries when I received a phonecall.

 " Do you do home hair cuts ", asked a voice

" Yes  we do", I said.

" Can you do one today for my new secretary".

" Yes  - what time "?

" How about 11.30 This morning, were just a couple of blocks away".

" No problem, give me the address ".
 
I was given the address and got my stuff and set off, it only took me a few minutes to get there. It was a red hot day.

I arrived at a business premises and was met by a lady in her forties. She had long black hair with a blunt fringe, it hung very straight past her shoulders. She wore a white silk blouse with two buttons undue and a long black crew neck cardigan. I noticed that both her ears were pierced four time with gold studs. She looked very professional.
 
 "Hello, its through here - oh the haircuts not for me she said its for her". She pointed to a long dark haired girl in her twenties sat at a desk. She had really nice long hair in a large plat all the way down back. She wore a white shirt and black tie, black trousers, three inch high heels and a smart jacket. She was very pretty and looked as though she had been crying.
 
 " ok what style is she having"?
 
" Well ", said the lady " I want my secretary to have a good clean bowl cut, nice and short and smart - she too big for her boots, oh yes before you cut her hair she can put her works uniform on as well - these office juniors need to be put in their place".
 
The secretary went into the closet to get changed, she was not happy. When she came out I could see why. She came out of the closet and sat down, a tear rolled down her face. Her smart suit had gone and had been replaced by a white polo shirt, baggy sweatshirt cardigan - with the company logo on the left breast and plain back trousers and flat shoes.
 
I began to brush her hair, it was in great condition. Then it was time to cut !
 
Snick - snick, a big smile came to the face of her boss as the large plat of hair fell to the floor. I was about to put a towel round her neck when her boss asked, " what are you doing - its only a bit of hair - leave it ".

" Ok - Your the boss", I said.
 
I put the clippers at the base of her neck, they had no attachment and fizzed into action. I forced the clippers up her nape, they ate away at her hair like a knife through butter. I pulled them off to leave a mass of hair like a mop on her head. The process was repeated time after time after time around the back. I could see the little clippings of hair falling down the collar of her t-shirt. Next came to bangs at each side. I decided I would do all this cut with clippers, I took a comb and zipped the sides off. They fell to the floor.
 
Her boss shouted across the room, " make sure those sideburns are clipperd off good and short ". She had begun to play with the four studs in her right ear.
 
" I can clipper them off, but I really need to razor them, if I do it with the back of the clippers it will make her head very sore"!
" Just use to back of the clippers and get on with it".
 
I turned the clippers on their back and drove them up the sides of other head, " ahhh that hurts ", she gasped.
 
I combed her hair again and it was looking very well. Finished her hair with a line just on the ear and a fringe below her eyebrows. The back and sides were completely balled. I put a mirror in front of her and then showed her the back. She burst into tears. I felt so sorry for her.
 
The secretary was not happy and sobbed as she was handed some invoices to type up, " thankyou - you have done a good job- see you next week for trim " , said the boss.
 
" No problem ", I said.
 
" Bowl cuts are always the best ", said the boss as she buttoned the collar of her blouse.
 
" Yes they are ", I said, we smiled at each as we looked at the secretary with her silly bowl cut , that will teach her - stuck up little bitch!
