Five months had passes since that Valentines weekend.

Since that time Andy and Kelly had moved into together. It was now early June and winter had turned to an unseasonable warm spring.

Kelly came home from work before Andy and checked the mail. Their house was very warm inside. Kelly thought to herself this would be a good day to turn the air conditioner on. It had been hot 90 degrees for two days now and it seemed it wasn't going away anytime soon. Kelly turned the window air on and went up to the bathroom to get changed. Her clothes were sticky and sweaty from the walk home from work. Kelly undressed and slipped into a black tank top over her bra, and short ripped off jeans. Kelly examined her reflection in the mirror. It had been 5 months since that wondrous evening when Kelly made Andy cut her long hair off into a cute lip length bob. She looked at herself. Her hair had grown about 4 and inches. She turned her head to examine her nape. it had all grown in. her bob was now down to a little past her chin and covering her neck. Since Feb after the initial cut Kelly took pride in sporting her new style. As it grew in the back she experimented by gelling it up in the back and making it look spiky. Which was very popular among the Goth scene. she loved the contrast between her long locks in front and the spiked hair along the nape As she studied her herself in the mirror though now she noticed her hair was looking lackluster as of late. Maybe it was the heat or maybe she was in need of a trim. Her two pink streaks had faded a bit from washing and her roots which were golden brown had grown and were visible along her middle parted hair by about 3 inches. "This is dreadful she said to herself" She really need to fix her hair up. She thought to herself what needed to be done. First she would need to dye the roots and her hair black again and touch up the two pink strands. As for the length, she figured she'd have Andy re-cut her hair. She remembered how the clippers felt and anxiously awaited him to come home to tell him she was in need of a trim. She went into the other room and then back into the bathroom and faced the mirror, there she tried on this necklace black strapped choker she had just ordered and got delivered. She placed it around her neck It looked great, but she wasn't particularly found of the fact that her hair was touching the strap and it made the look she was striving for look so-so. Kelly put on her sandals and headed out the door to the local drug store to buy the hair dye and temporary pink that they sell.

She dreaded walking to the drug store. By the time she got there her neck was all sweaty and her hair on her neck was drenched. Kelly began to think to her self "God it will be so great to get this hair off my neck again. It was long enough that it touched her neck and had grew a good 4 and half inches, but yet too short to put in a ponytail. She did however think she could put her hair up in a high pony and let the nape hair hang for temporary relief. Kelly walked into the air conditioned drug store and bought the dye. Permanent Black hair dye, The brand though wasn't the kind she usually bought. "Gee I guess this is just as good" she said to herself, Then Kelly picked up the Hot Brand Hot pink hair dye and paid a the resister. As Kelly walked the few blocks home she thought maybe it was to late to call her cousin and have her dye her hair that way she would know it would turn out right. But then Kelly thought to herself, "But If I do that, she'll only want to cut it to and I want Andy to be the one who cuts my hair"

It was 6pm , the Sun was still shining bright when she got back in her house. Andy had just gotten in a few moments before. "Wow honey it's kind of hot in here" said Andy "Yeah, I just turned the air on an hour ago" Kelly explained. Andy then grabbed Kelly and gave her a kiss Kelly told Andy dinner would be ready soon and told him she'd be right back. Kelly ran up to the bathroom to put the hair dye up there and to get an elastic band for her hair. Kelly looked in the mirror and grabbed her hair from above her ears and tightened the elastic around twice to hold in place. She looked at herself in the mirror. Her nape hair was half way down her neck now, and still very sweaty. she patted her neck with a towel, and headed downstairs

Kelly took out the dinner she made, Andy's favorite Macaroni salad. "It looks great, honey" Andy said commenting on the food. "So how was your day asked Andy? "Well the air in the laundry mat broke so I was sweating all day" sighed Kelly "Wow did they get anybody to fix it" asked Andy "Well my manager said someone should fix it by Thursday" answered Kelly "I'm tired of this heat already" proclaimed Kelly 'I noticed the heat must had gotten to you, you put your hair up huh?" commented Andy as he ate. "Yeah my neck is sweating awful, Honey you think after dinner you could do me a favor?" asked Kelly in her soft voice "Sure what is it" asked Andy "I think I'm due for a trim, it's been since February. Don't you think so" asked Kelly "Andy glanced at Kelly's head. her ears exposed from her hair being pulled back. 'Yeah I mean I guess, sure if you want me to do it I can't answered Andy "Yes I would appreciate that. Kelly reasoned "I really loved the way it looked when you first cut it , and I know my nape will feel so much cooler if it were cut short again." "At least I'll be cool until they fix the air in work" chuckled Kelly

Andy and Kelly finished dinner. Kelly told Andy she was going to dye her hair first, black, wait the amount of time it says, then he could do the cut. "Your hair really doesn't look bad hon" Andy said. Kelly tipped her head down and pointed with her fingers at her crown showing her golden brown roots "See this, she giggled these are my roots, roots are a no no" Kelly and Andy went up stairs and turned the upstairs air in the window on. Andy waited patiently in the bedroom watching tv. Kelly went in the bathroom over the sink and prepared the dye and applied it. About 45 minutes passed and Kelly dye job was done. She came out of the bathroom with her freshly dyed jet black hair. When Kelly had entered the bedroom Andy was sound asleep on the bed "Get up honey I'm ready, yelled Kelly Andy awoke but was very tired He looked at her dyed hair

Andy noticed the pink stands were dyed over black too. "You dyed the stands, they were so cute" asked Andy "Kelly, well I can re- do them" Come on it's time to cut my hair. "I'm' really tired from working all day, baby, why don't we do this tomorrow" asked Andy "But I don't wan to wait, it's going to be hot in work tomorrow "Come on Kel' it's only 24 hours ," with that Andy dosed off again. That night Kelly laid awake next Andy who was sound asleep. She accepted she'd have to wait till tomorrow to get her hair cut.

The next day came and Kelly once again got home from work Today was even worse. Still no air conditioner in work. Her hair, even though she was smart enough to pull it back again in the high ponytail, was thoroughly drenched in sweat and her neck was even worse since the hair too short to put up way lying on her neck like a blanket. Kelly went up stairs before Andy got home and took a cool shower. While drying her hair she noticed split ends. "Why that's funny she said I know my hair needs to be trimmed but I didn't notice this many yesterday" she inspected her hair more as she patted it dry. The more she looked the more she could see her hair was broken off. She began to panic, "How did this happen she said out loud" it wasn't drastic but she could see shorter broken off hair on her face. Then she quickly thought to herself, about the hair dye. She quickly searched for the box in the bathroom waste paper basket. She found it and read the instructions again there in small print it said may cause breakage. "That's odd, this never happened with the other dye I used. Then she realized that this brand wasn't as gentle or as soft as the kind she usually used. She was frantic trying to asses the damage. Some hairs were broken off 3 or 4 inches shorter then the rest of her hair. She collected herself. That wasn't that big of deal, She was going to Have Andy cut that much off anyway , back up to her lips. then Kelly noticed more stray hair on her front of her head, They had broken off a sizable amount more. Not enough to visibly notice at a glance but you could tell they were there. She didn't like how her hair seemed frayed and in the light looked almost frizzy from the breakage. She loved how sleek and blunt her hair was before. 'Now what am I going to do she said" She quickly called her cousin who is stylist and told her what happened "Kelly why didn't you have me do it?" asked her annoyed cousin on the phone. Kelly then asked if her cousin steph could come over and take a look at it.

About 20 minutes later Steph arrived and looked at Kelly hair. "Well there is some breakage" "You really should be careful with these cheapo store bought dye Kelly" "What should I do?" Kelly asked as they both faced the mirror" Well if you had planned on going for that lip length bob you had it might not look as good because your probably going to see the breakage a bit in the front. You can always slick it down with gel, but the front hairs are going to be harder to handle. Kelly felt sad inside. She loved how her hair looked when she first had Andy giver her the short bob. Now even with that cut it wouldn't look at sleek and magnificent. Steph got ready to leave as she was walking out the door she told Kelly "Maybe it would be a good idea if you thought of another cut instead of the usual. Or you can always leave it like this and let it grow out" Kelly thanked her cousin for coming.

About 10 minute later Andy arrived home from work. Kelly was down and anxiously awaited him to get in. Andy greeted Kelly with the usual passionate smooch. "What's wrong Kel" asked Andy as he could tell something was wrong "oh nothing It's just that he darn hair dye ruined my hair" Kelly said with a tear welling up in her eyes. 'What do you mean?" asked a concerned Andy. Kelly brought him to the mirror and began to section off the broken off hair and showed him "Aww honey I'm so sorry" "I mean even if we cut it last night it wouldn't had prevented this from happening" said Andy with his hand around her waist consoling her. I'll make it up to you tonight I will be your personal stylist and your wish is my command"

Kelly tried to smile "There's not much you can do, It's still going to look broken off even if we cut it back to the bob length it was before. Then an idea popped into Kelly's mind Maybe I can look thru my fashion trend magazine for ideas" "Ok that's a good idea' answered Andy

After dinner Andy waited again with the tools they would need on the bed. Kelly came out of the bathroom It seemed like she was in there forever. She was in there for a while in fact looking thru the pictures of the models and trying to imagine what she could do to fix her hair. Kelly stood by the bed and held out a magazine and showed Andy. "there, this model right here I want you to cut my hair like that" said Kelly with a smile. Andy looked at the picture, the model had her hair cut short in almost a combination between a bowl cut and a pixie. Kelly added "Doesn't it look Like Demi Moore's hair in Ghost?" 'Yeah it sure does" replied Andy "Oh I love it, That's the cut I want. Now that I think of it I even admired that hair style on Demi Moore growing up every time I saw that movie" said Kelly. "Well i guess it's now or never" added Andy "Are you ready? asked Andy "Yep sure am, but are you going to be able to cut it like that?" asked a slightly concerned Kelly "Yeah I think so, Andy studied the picture carefully, then told Kelly to grab the old VHS tape of Ghost so he could take a look. Andy popped in into the VCR in the bedroom

Andy had everything like last time ready. on the bed, the scissors, the clippers, the hair clips the cape, the comb and the spray bottle. Kelly pulled up the chair in the center of the bedroom She placed several large towels on the floor so the hair would fall on that instead. Kelly had on a black tank top still as she sat she did as last time and slowly lifted it off her body revealing a black bra and panties. Andy filled the spray bottle with cold water. and got ready. "I'm ready when you are" proclaimed Kelly." Andy smiled. First Andy looked over her hair. Kelly was sitting in the chair facing the VCR watching the movie and Andy stood behind her viewing it was well to get a better glimpse of the style. Kelly's hair was already put up in a high ponytail just above her ears. two bobby pins holding her short high pony in place were at either side of her head at he base of her neck. Andy removed the ponytail and the pins, then pinned Kelly's hair back up, leaving all the hair below the tops of her ear down. Andy set the clippers to a two at first. "I think this should be good for the back to start out with. Unlike last time Andy thought it be better to clipper the back of her nape dry instead of wet. He carefully combed thru her loose hair that wasn't pinned up. Then Andy flicked the clippers on. He pushed Kelly's head down. her grown bob now fell forward just past her chin. Andy gently placed the clippers at the base of Kelly neck and pressed in and began to shear her hair. Hair tumbled down Kelly's neck. This time it seemed more because it was dry and seemed thicker Andy finished one pass then worked his way up with another pass. With another stroke of the clippers 3 to 4 inches of jet black hair tumbled to the floor. It was starting to look pretty good. Kelly moaned in excitement once again feeling the vibration touching her neck. This time it seemed Andy was taking the clippers higher though. but Kelly was loving every second of it. In fact Andy was taking the clippers higher. With each pass Andy brought the clippers all the way up to almost the top of her ears. Kelly could feel a lump in her throat. But it was a good nervous. She couldn't believe she was getting her hair cut so short. Andy finished the back of her head. Then unlike last time he pinned her hair up on each side of her head by about two inches and measured a straight line so it was in line with the pinned up hair in the back. Andy turned the clippers back on and carefully brought them to along side Kelly's ears. With a quick pass, Kelly's hair fell to the floor revealing her ear. Andy pulled her ear back and pushed the clippers into her hair again passing it around the shape of her ear. The humming sounded so loud since it was so close to her ear. Andy did the same to the other side now. Kelly picked up the mirror and examined her hair. It was so short She could see how he outlined the set length by clippering it all around. Her hair was clippered just as short on the sides of her head now traveling up to about two inches above her ears. "Ooh I'm loving this" Kelly said ecstatically Andy then un pinned her hair from the sides and back and her long bob fell back on her face. Kelly looked in the mirror, with her hair down it looked the same except with less volume since it was undercut. Andy placed his hand on her shoulder. 'Well, this is it, no turning back now" "Go for it' Kelly said. Andy placed the clippers down and picked up the spray bottle. He quickly sprayed Kelly's hair down. Long wet hair now lay on her face and on her neck. She could feel the cool wet strands touching her newly buzzed neck. Andy picked up the comb and scissors Then looked at the TV screen one last time to get a fresh memory of the style. He started by combing her wet hair thru then combed the front of her hair forward making the long wet tresses cover Kelly's face. Andy then placed the scissors up to Kelly's eye brow and closed the scissors about 7 inches immediately fell on her lap. Andy continued making a carefully cutting bangs in a straight line across her forehead. Within a minute he was done that part. the bangs were wet and very thick But that's exactly the way they were supposed to look Full bangs like Demi Moore had in Ghost. Andy made sure they were even . And then Kelly's bangs sat neatly just touching her eyebrows. Andy used this as a set line. Then Andy placed the scissors at the back of Kelly's head and made sure he measured the comb up to the clippered part. Then began to cut again "shiick shickk" Andy starting cutting Kelly's hair in the back. Kelly loved the feeling of it the scissors felt so high just near the octicbil bone, Andy proceeding in cutting a straight line working his way towards the side. Kelly could now feel again how high the clippered part was. she loved the feeling she wanted to reach around to touch it but figured she better wait. Andy then began to cut the sides following along in the set line. Kelly couldn't believe her hair was being cut so short. It felt like a dream yet she never wanted it to end. Andy cut the sides from the back towards the front making the hair all one length all around. After snipping a few hairs here and there He was done. Well I'm done" exclaimed Andy. Kelly got up and tons jet black hair fell to the towels below. Kelly ran to the bathroom mirror to behold her new haircut. Her face lit up. She loved it, It looked just like Demi Moore in Ghost except it looked a little shorter on the sides and the nape. but she loved it. the nape was cut just as short as last time. This time though Andy left it natural and didn't use a razor. Kelly looked at the back an asked Andy to just shave the tiny stubble that was on the far sides of her neck to give it a cleaner look. Andy got out the shaving cr?me from the medicine cabinet and his razor. She stood in front of the mirror admiring her cut as he massaged the foam onto her neck making a shaped line "I think you should just shave the corners were the stubble is sitting like a sore thumb, but I'd leave the middle the way it is instead of making a boxed line" said Andy "Ok but why" asked Kelly, "Well if I do that it'll leave a cute little v like shape of hair like Demi had" explained Andy "Oooh that's right that was so sexy how that little bit of short hair was on her nape.' Kelly said excited Andy placed the razor to Kelly's neck and shaved away the stubble clean. Now it was looking better. Kelly had the traditional boxed nape look but yet the little v shape in the center just like Andy explained she would. The job was done Andy wiped the foam away. Kelly turned around to Andy and began to kiss him passionately "Thank you so much " she said in a soft voice, Then she placed her hand all thru her hair in delight. Even messing it up, Then she placed her hands thru the back feeling the short nape She loved how high her hair was clippered in the back too. She gazed at herself in the mirror. her eyes looked bigger. and she loved how her jet black bangs covered her forehead. She hadn't had bangs since she was a kid. And they were beautiful bangs she thought, Not baby doll or a fringe but a thick bowl cut type of bangs. She even admired how her short side burns looked she couldn't get over how neatly they were cut with the clippers.

Kelly then took a cool shower and washed her short hair. Andy relaxed in bed waiting for her.

Kelly got out of the shower, her hair felt so light When she finally dried it she looked and saw how lovely it looked no more split ends. It looked so full and yet felt light and fluffy. And such a contrast from the hair that was clippered below

Kelly hopped into bed. It was odd at first as she laid on the pillow beside Andy not to have to brush her hair off her face. And then when she placed her head on the pillow, she could feel the cool bed spread touching her shorn neck. Kelly turned to Andy and kissed him once again. Andy and Kelly then made love thru the night.
